Operations

Ms. Gurman has extensive experience in independent private schools, most recently serving on the Admissions Team at The Buckley School. In this role, she provided invaluable guidance and support to families navigating the unique and competitive New York City admissions landscape. Prior to that, she managed daily operations at The Abraham Joshua Heschel School and ensured a smooth educational experience for the High School.

She began her career at Winston Preparatory School, where she helped students develop essential executive functioning skills. She holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Yeshiva University and is a New York State Certified School Counselor. Additionally, she earned a certificate of advanced study in mental health counseling.

Prior to joining Emet, Mr. Mackay worked for the Council on Foreign Relations as an operations associate. He received an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in global affairs from New York University, where he focused on transnational security issues. Mr.Mackay holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brigham Young University.

Mr.Mackay is also a student of the world. He has lived and traveled throughout Eastern Europe and has studied Russian at schools in Ukraine and Russia, including at Moscow State University. He likes to read about business and international relations and enjoys watching international films.
